The Povolotsky family came to Israel from Moscow in 1990. The family violin trio had their first performance on the Israeli television in January 1991 and has since developed a well known reputation in Israel, Europe, the United States, Canada and South America. The trio has been invited to perform on radio channels and television programs.In 2000 the trio recorded an album called “Capriccio No. 5” consisting of eleven classical compositions in electronic jazz style. The album was sold in (throughout) Europe, the United States and Israel.Alexander Povolotsky set up the "Povolotsky Family Trio" where he plays together with his son Eugene and daughter Marianna. Since the beginning, the trio has been performing with some of the world’s leading opera singers in a variety of concert programs. All of the trio members also play in the Virtuosi of Tel-Aviv ensemble. Furthermore, Alexander and Marianna Povolotsky are members of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Mehta.
